In May 2025, Deutsche Telekom accelerated its Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) rollout, connecting 232,000 new premises across Germany. This marks a 22% year-over-year increase and the first time in 2025 that the monthly figure has exceeded 200,000.
As of May, 10.9 million homes and businesses in Germany can book FTTH services with speeds of up to 2 Gbps.
Additionally, Telekom now offers:
Up to 100 Mbps for 37 million households
Up to 250 Mbps for over 31.5 million households
Telekom has secured contracts in the Gigabit Region Stuttgart, notably in Göppingen district, to connect:
Over 530 households
4 schools
6 commercial areas in nine municipalities
Rollouts also began in cities like Geislingen an der Steige and several nearby communities.
This expansion reflects Germany’s growing demand for high-speed internet and shows how public-private partnerships can accelerate fiber adoption, especially in regional areas.
